Successful renewable energy projects depend on best practice management controls and professional industry experience at all stages of the project. Based on our team’s background of multi-discipline professional experience, MicroGrid USA provides management strength and value in the following areas:
The particular blend of skills possessed by the team at MicroGrid USA provides 10 competitive advantages:
Solar project investments provide predictable and steady returns, but require accurate modeling and industry knowledge to make sure all aspects of the investment are taken into consideration and fully understood prior to beginning the project. The development team at New MicroGrid USA has the professional experience and intimate industry knowledge to put together comprehensive business cases for each project and provide an investment prospectus based on a variety of factors that enter into the energy investment lifecycle. MicroGrid USA provides our partners an investment package and forecast of the project’s financial return that is comprehensive, accurate, and easy to understand.
Renewable energy investors achieve their returns on investment through a combination of project solar revenues, rebates, and tax incentives. Our partners collect revenue from the host energy user based on the user’s commitment to purchase electricity from the solar installation for 15-30 years. This is a predictable revenue stream backed by an organization that MicroGrid USA screens for excellent, bankable credit. The investor also receives the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) worth 30% of the value of their investment in the project which can be used to offset U.S. Federal tax liabilities. MACRS accelerated depreciation over the first 5 years of service can also be used to reduce Federal and State income taxes. Finally, State-based incentives in the form of Performance Tax Credits (PTC), grants, rebates, or Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) make up additional revenue streams.

MicroGrid USA works with the most reputable solar companies to complete engineering, permitting, utility interconnections, construction and commissioning of solar transactions. The initial development phase includes identifying the right project partners, sourcing land, whether by purchase or lease, identifying customers for the project, and securing the permitting. While in many cases we operate as the originating developer, Micro Grid USA also welcomes the opportunity to work with industry and other development partners to collaborate on projects.
MicroGrid USA has NABCEP-certified solar energy engineers, project designers, installers, and master electricians on staff to ensure all technical aspects of its solar projects are executed to best-practice standards. Our engineering and technical team members are skilled in design, solar production modeling, project site designs (CAD), and interconnect design.
Engineering, Planning, and Construction (EPC) partners are an integral part of every MicroGrid USA solar project. This type of partner brings great value to the solar project by way of expertise and integrity. An EPC contractor designs the installation, does the solar procurement of necessary materials, and completes the solar construction project under a firm fixed price (FFP) contract that is solicited and executed by MicroGrid USA on behalf of the investor or project company. The EPC is tightly managed and quality inspected at all critical steps of the project to ensure quality and schedule are achieved according to project specifications.
If you are an EPC with experience in solar and renewable energy engineering and solar construction, please contact us so we can explore working together to create America’s solar infrastructure.

MicroGrid USA was founded on the most difficult aspect of solar enterprise – funding. And since inception, MicroGrid USA has built a network of dependable financial partners. As a transaction and capital-sourcing specialist, MicroGrid USA has a project financing rate of 100%. That means that all projects brought to market by MicroGrid USA have been successfully funded. We source both debt and equity financing at competitive rates and on standard industry terms from private, public, and institutional investors with established long-term, successful relationships. We also fund an increasing percentage of our projects off of our own balance sheet through our own investment fund. Solar project financing remains a core strength of MicroGrid USA
When The Whole Foods decided to expand its renewable energy program — as part of its ambitious corporate climate initiative — the bar was set high. Leadership aimed to broaden solar energy usage across the east coast: starting with dozens of installations across , ,store locations in California Texas, Ohio, Indiana, New, Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland and Washington, DC.
Prepping and designing solar arrays for 27 locations required a comprehensive and detailed cross-team effort. But in the process, MicroGridUSA identified opportunities for improvement within existing sites’ infrastructure, which enabled numerous highly impactful operational upgrades.
MicroGridUSA gathered data on local grid interaction and onsite plant production — as well as detailed weather tracking sensor data — which would prove critical to optimizing long-term energy usage across locations. Through that due diligence, MicroGridUSA was also able to offer a unique financing solution that delivered additional value.
Every rooftop is unique. And every rooftop project comes with a slew of considerations: shape and slope; weight-bearing capacity; roof-damage remediation; water runoff; etc. When you’re dealing with multiple roofs across multiple locations, the details can be complicated. Which is why it’s critical to work with a solar developer that comes with the experience and processes you can trust.
On the strength of the first 27 store installations, The Whole Food expanded the project to 69 more stores and 2 distribution centers across 4 additional states: Massachusetts, New York, California and Illinois. Thus far, MicroGridUSA has completed 35MW of rooftop solar, delivering an immediate impact in Whole Food’s operation.
